Before we go forward, we must point out that we’re going to talk about how to report any Phishing email scams to Microsoft in both the old and new versions of Outlook.com.

Report Phishing email in Outlook.com

Move phishing email to the Junk folder

When one needs to report emails that are suspected of phishing when using the newer version of Outlook.com, it’s best to know that it requires more clicks when compared to the older version. We’re not sure why Microsoft has done this, but it is what it is. OK, so be sure to click on the email you want to report, then from the menu at the top, click on Junk. Doing this should send the affected email to your Junk folder, so right away you need to navigate to this folder. Alternatively, you can right-click on the email and then select Mark as Junk to kick it into the Junk folder like a boss.

Report the email as a phishing threat

Now, once you’re in the Junk folder, which is titled Junk Email, you’ll need to click on the email you’ve recently sent to the folder. The next step then is to click on the option that says Not Junk from the top menu, and this reveals a drop-down menu. Finally, just select Phishing and you’re good to go. Bear in mind that reporting an email doesn’t block the sender, therefore, it means they can still send emails to you.
